Egg Retrieval Day

Today was our Egg Retrieval Day. I woke up in tears of excitement and fear but it is later in the afternoon now and I’ve had a chance to calm down. My husband got up early to leave. He texted me on the way back and said “Package has been delivered!” 😉  He cracks me up.

We live about 2 hours from our Fertility Specialist, so it gave me a chance to be alone, pray, and reflect a bit. My nurse didn’t really discourage me to go but she did make me feel like it was ok and expected for me to miss “the package delivery.” I’m glad I chose to stay home, work, and stay on my routine.

My husband said it was quick, he spoke to one lady, and left. So that is all I will talk about that part!

I also started the Progesterone Oil the same morning at 8am. I have been a NERVOUS WRECK about this shot! Tears and as many blogs and research as I could find. I am blessed with the best nurse here in town who is AMAZING with needles. No one likes needles but we really hate them and she always puts me at ease. She did the first shot for me and it was NO WHERE as bad I thought it would be. A tiny pinch but it was definitely sore afterwards. I am trying heat, massage, yoga, and walking to work out the knots.

I wish so bad we knew how the egg retrieval went but we will not know anything until tomorrow. I am praying for our donor daily. I pray this is a testimony for both, a peaceful, precious experience for everyone involved! It’s odd to have a such a connection with women you will never meet. I believe our Donor had the egg retrieval earlier in the morning and left by the time my husband arrived.

This was our night before Egg Retrieval, Uterine Lining Thickening, Sperm Strengthening dinner. Salmon, Avocado, Chickpeas, pesto, and broccoli. I’ve been a little insane with my diet but I feel like it is the only thing I can control.
