Lupron Injections Day 6

Starting Lupron Shots

It is Monday morning and I started the Lupron injections last Wednesday. I definitely started feeling a change by Sunday morning. In fact I think I cried 3 times before 2 pm. For NO reason. A video of my nephew’s swim match listening to my mom, brother, and sister in law screaming in the background…the flood gates!

We time the shot each night at 9:30. We had dinner plans on Saturday night so we packed a small cooler to bring our shot with us and excused ourselves quickly to run out to the car and take as dinner was served. It was awkward but everyone knows we have been trying and didn’t ask too many questions. It was the first time I really bled from all of my cycles of treatment. I guess from sitting up in the backseat and taking it? Or from doing it too quick? I am not really sure but as you can see I have a nasty bruise. We usually switch sides each night but I may stick to the right side for two nights to let that go down some. It looks gross! Last nights was fine but I was back home with my ice pack.

The Lupron is supposed to stop your cycle but I just feel like I’m on my period, so crampy and the spotting is awful. Not complaining, just a part of the process! We have a follow up appointment for labs and an ultrasound on Wednesday.

This is starting to feel real! I’m not sure if this nausea is from the shots, the nerves, or my excitement?! The hubs is so sweet and kisses my bruise all the time. He wants to help! I am so blessed to have him.

  • IUI Number 1

Our first IUI seems like a world ago. On Jan 28 we had one follicle that was around 10″ and one that was 19″.  Our Nurse Practitioner (who we adore) was very surprised that one was so large and felt it could be a cyst. I left that morning convinced the weeks of injections were…
