Treatment Care Package

I did not know I would need a "kit"!

After all of my treatments this is what I made for myself. This would also be a sweet gift if you know someone going through the process. There are lots of cute items on Etsy for “IVF gifts” but I just made it for myself and we were already spending enough money!! You get it if you get it.

A Calendar
There are a lot of dates and times and medicine. A calendar or notebook dedicated to the process is an amazing sanity check! My husband even “white boarded” our shot schedules with IVF so we could check each off.

An Icepack
If you are like me and hate needles! Always helps to ice it first.

A small cooler for your icepack and whatever else you want to throw in there when you have doctor appointments!
This may seem a little over the top but who cares. I did it and I loved having what I needed. This whole process is beyond stressful and preparation brings me peace.
On the topic of needles, what helps me is to watch videos on my phone. Any time I need to have blood drawn I have a video of one of my nieces or nephews prepped up to watch and not think about the needle!

Socks
Doctor offices are always cold to me so it’s nice to have an extra pair of socks when it’s time to go “legs up”!

A heating pad
To each their own but after shots I like ice packs, after doctors appointments the heating pad is my go to. It winds me down and feels really nice to place on your abdomen. I woke up with one already on my stomach after my IVF. I was in pain and my heart was broken so for the 5 minutes they let me lay down it was really nice.

A journal
My journal is how I pray. I am such a visual processor that I need to see my prayers written out. I can’t image going through these processes without my prayer journal. I included some of the verses I hold onto here.

A treat!
For me it was icecream which I kind of regret because I gained 20 lbs during IVF but I also liked having something to look forward to each night after shots! Obviously sugar isn’t great and caffeine and alcohol are not options so find something to have afterwards to make you happy!
